Evo magazine recently did their car of the year,and the R8 came 3rd,behind the 430 scuderia and the 997gt3rs.

Now bear in ,mind these are really track cars and Evo is very track orientated and hardcore and the fact they said there was nothing in it between the top 3 ..an amazing result for the R8 ..bearing in mind it is useable every day.

Autocar also did their favourite cars of the year test.The article is misleading as the verdict goes to alotus,but reading the R8 section the driver asked all the testers to put their hands up if the R8 was not the best car they had driven all year....not one hand went up.
