My reason for selling is a very personal business issue where ownership of the R8 is having a negative impact on my company image. Difficult to discuss here as some might not understand the implications, however my decision to sell the R8 has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the R8, it's performance, quality, dealer or service. I simply could not be more impressed or pleased with the ownership experience. This is a very tough decision for me personally, but one that has to occur.

Looking at a Cayenne GTS, no decisions made at this point. I have had seven Porsches and never a comment by my customers regarding what I drive. The R8 has created heartburn for my customers beyond anything I can tell you. I really think it is about not knowing what the R8 is and in the uneducated view it looks to be in the F430 or Merci price range and that does not sit well. HELL, my 05 997 Turbo "S" Cab was $20K more than my R8 and in two years I had only one negative comment. WHO wood a thunk ?

well i take it your field of business, you want to be a little low key with your choice of cars? too many people will be talking and it can't be a good thing right?
R8 is definitely a head turner, and as you mentioned it will get more attention than the more expensive porsche.

Understood. I am going to keep as low key as possible, too. In Korea, you don't drive a car better than ur boss'. It sucks when people starts talking.

Sorry to hear that but I think I know what you mean. Your customers think that you are making too much money, are probably charging them too much, and are having a hard time doing business with you. For the same reasons when I visit my clients, I drive my 10 year old Mercedes and try to look humble.

Once again I have reasons to be thankful.

I have an R8 (and pretty much as-specced!)
I rarely have more than 3 clients at a time, and current clients are amazed and positively impressed ("did you bring 'the car' today?"). So far no negatives re $$$, (one would buy mine if i would sell at MSRP). I'm still getting paid.
The crunch will come I suppose when they do their next project and it's a "competitive bid opportunity" instead of "how soon can you get started?".
Understood not all can have the same situation.

OH, I so wish that was my case. Be sure to tell your client about my car, I will sell without the extra wheels and adjust the price accordingly. Thanks
