Driving the R8 for one year now! And I just noticed 2 different rear wheels!

I'm driving my R8 for a year now. And still I love it!

And every day it is a head-turner!

When cleaning my R8 this week I noticed I have two different rear wheels! The left rear wheel is much closer to the rear calliper then the right wheel!

Also the bolds on the right wheel are deeper then left, and the heart of the right wheel is also deeper then left.

    WTF is this!

    Yep:

Left, notice the narrow space between caliper and spoke:

Right, there is more space here, my hand does fit between caliper and spoke:

Right, the bolds are fitted deeper here:

Left, the bolds are less deep:

Left, here is the space 3,5cm:

Right, here is the space 5cm:

Also the left wheel falls more in the chassis then the right one.

just checked mine - both ~9cm disc to wheel face and both 2.5cm caliper to wheel. very weird that yours is like that

One of your rear wheels might be for the front axle?

BTW, how many km's on your car now? Any idea how your clutch is wearing?

Did someone perhaps mistakenly switch one of your fronts with the back? (Is that even a possible fit?) I did notice from the start on mine (because I actually cleaned those areas of the wheels a few times) that the inner portion of both my front wheels was narrower than both rears. The lug nuts are also deeper buried in the rears, but they are symmetric. That's the only thing I can think of.

That's weird! Maybe a front hub spacer fitted to the rear ?
