I was told that my R8 I ordered in Dec 06 would arrive here tomorrow, but on a hunch I drove to the dealership and it wasn't in the parking lot or showroom.

As I was walking out of the parking lot, I saw something in the garage of the service bay - a shiny new red R8 with the shipping tape and foam still on it

Words can't describe the feeling. 20 long months of waiting, but now its' here, optioned exactly as I wanted it, and for an amazing price!!!

Now the hard part - get the dealership to PDI it in one day so I can have it tomorrow evening!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS - the new polished wheels look sweet!!!

how long is the wait once you confirm your specs? I put my name on the list this past July ; <, I am hoping for an ETA by end of this year, not sure if that is realistic... but one can always hope... I keep thinking between silver, white or daytona...

until you get a confirmed build date, it's up in the air. i confirmed my specs in april 07, and its now sep 08 for whatever its' worth. i would think you will get yours in less time though, unless the economy picks up.

ky, wondering why you sold the '08 to buy the '09. They're essentially the same car with no discernable differences. Is it because the '09 is specced the way that you want it?

Also, can you confirm that the '08 did not have the row of engine lights? When I finally got my '09 last month, I was disappointed to see that the engine light was just a single light on each side of the engine, rather than a whole row of lights surrounding the engine, as shown in the brochure. I thought that it might simply have been a change in '09, but someone mentioned that the '08s didn't have it either.

i ordered the 09 back in dec 06. got it for the right price. in the meantime i randomly found an 08 three months ago in cleveland (about a 4.5 hr drive) for $20k over so I grabbed it figuring I could get out even at worst and did. I drove it for 1500 miles and spent $1000 to do so. Actually I had an offer $4k over what I paid but thought it was worth more (one month ago when it had 1300 miles on it), but oh well, should have taken the bird in the hand. anyway, the 09 has the nicer DIS, aux input, rear defogger (cabin window) and the options i wanted (alcantara roof, red). will check the engine lights but i think they both were the same. i am in the US and dont think we got the leds back there
