Premium Package without Navigation Question

Hey, I'm new to the forum (been lurking for a while) and will be ordering my R8 on Saturday. Had a question about ordering the premium package without the navigation package. Will I still get the 6.5" color display screen if I order the premium package without the nav? I would assume the screen would have to be installed in order to display the back-up camera and parking system. I asked my Audi dealer but they were unsure as well b/c they had never ordered an R8 this way.

Also, if anyone has a link to pics of a red R8 with oxygen silver sideblades I would love to see it. That's the color combo I'm thinking about ordering. Thanks!

Yes you still get the screen. It is also used for the radio and other audio functions together with stuff like bluetooth setup.

Be careful about oxygen silver. Make sure that it is what you want.

If is very reflective (like a mirror), and is the same colour as the petrol cap.

I had it on a sprint blue car, and it just didn't work (in my opionion). It was just too "bright". I then changed the side blade for a quartz grey, which has a duller finish and worked better.

Welcome, are u in the UK? how long is the current wait list over there? This is just my opinion, I do not think red and silver go together.

I have a red/oxygen car. Will post pix for you this weekend. It gets more compliments than you can imagine. The GM of my local audi dealer liked it even better than red/carbon.

No I'm not in the UK, in the US. I got on the list for the R8 2 months ago in July 2008. I was told it would be a 1 1/2 year wait which I was fine with. I was shocked when I received a call from the Audi dealership afew days ago. They told me that their dealership received a "special" allocation of 2 R8's, and they had to fill them within a small window (not sure how many days) or they lose the allocation and it goes to the next dealership. Because of the time window they were not going down the list, rather they called everyone on the list and made it a first come first serve basis. I'm going to the dealership to pick out color/options later this afternoon.

Has anyone else heard of these types of allocations the dealerships get, I have not.

Thanks so much for the pics. The car looks awesome, I'm definitely going with that exterior color combo. I like the carbon on the interior, is that the package or after-market?
