Has anyone here installed an Escort 9500ci on their R8?

I am getting my S5 in a few weeks now, and I researched laser jammers, radar detectors and laser/radar combos a few months ago and decided to buy the Escort 9500ci and do a custom install. Now, my dad was talking about him needing to buy a new V1 + K40 laser shifters for his incoming R8, and I explained to him that the Escort 9500ci is much better than those two, and a lot more discreet. So he agreed, so now I want to find a discreet place to put the display and controls:



So, I have been working hard to find the best way to do the install (since it will not only be going in his R8 but my S5, and they are somewhat similar), and here are a few things I was thinking. I would love to have some input if anyone has any ideas themselves, or if they have installed an 9500ci or any Escort laser/radar all-in-one unit. Here is what I thought:

1. Simply find a nice corner or place on the dash to put the display and control unit on.

2. Put the display and controls someplace hidden (like in the compartment under the armrest) and rely on the sounds (it beeps and it also speaks) and install a dual color mini LED light somewhere on the dash to show basic things like if its on, if its detecting radar or laser.

3. Put the control in the same place under the arm rest, but put the display somewhere on the dash like in #1.

4. Put the control in the same place under the arm rest, but install the display into the rear view mirror, just like a V1 system.

5. Put the display and controls in the same place under the arm rest, but install a custom display into the DIS that can be visible at all times, like dedicate the bottom 10th of the display to showing the same things that are being shown on the display under the armrest.

4 and 5 are obviously the best choices, as they really make the system invisible to the untrained eye. BUT, I have never seen someone install an Escort display into a rear view mirror, and although I have seen someone install a V1 display system/software into a color Audi DIS, I have never seen someone do the same for the 9500ci, let alone any Escort system. So, any help directing me towards information or pictures that show one of the last two choicer are at least possible would be very very very helpful!

Turns out my dad went and got a K40 Calibre system with front/rear radar detector and front/rear laser jammers as the local Audi dealership does K40 installs, and has done it on multiple R8s. I hope he is satisfied with it though, as everything I have heard says that the 9500ci is loads better than the Calibre. But, since I will still get the 9500ci, I am still interested in any responses that you guys may have, especially if they are more geared towards the S5. Maybe we can do some real life tests once I get my car, lol.

That's like throwing money away. The K40 sucks compared to the V1, the Bel STiR or the 9500ci.
