    Lit engine bay

    Hi

I am looking into maybe getting an R8. I was wondering, does anyone have pictures of that interior lighting option they have, which lights the engine bay. Just wondering how it looks, i dont want my car glowing blue neon at night since I'm not a member of the cast of The Fast and The Furious

The light is beautiful LED white/blueish tone, and it is only on, I believe, when the doors are opened, and then for a few minutes after they are closed (unless you are going into the car, as I belive the lights turn off once the car is started. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow, but if it was an option (in the US, the lighting pack is standard), I would actually consider it to be one of the most important/neccessary options to order. At night, the lit engine bay looks absolutely stunning, and I have just sat and stared at it for a few times. Personally, I wish Audi would have included a switch/option that let's the light stay on for changeable amount of time or have it on perminantly when out of the car, and then have a seperate battery compartment (like 4 DDD batteries) so the light staying on won't drain the main battery.

Turn on the interior dome light(s) while showing your car off in the parking lot at your local nightspot, then the engine bay light will come on and stay on, at least until the dome light times out (battery saver).

The lit engine bay is one of the coolest features of the car and fascinates everyone, including all my Ferrari and Lambo friends.
