Funny, I thought maybe the last post was going to cover this question when I first read the title. Does anybody know for sure if the R-tronic acts like a true manual when in neutral? I know the car sometimes rolls on hills when just pulling away, if the hill hold assist hasn't activated.
I know that it is bad to rev an automatic while rolling. I've also been told it is bad on the transmission just to roll in neutral in an automatic (like on downslopes). A couple of times, people have asked me to rev it while rolling in traffic. If you put this car in neutral and rev while rolling, is it bad on the car (transmission/engine) in any way different from revving the car in neutral while parked? Obviously, I don't mean bouncing it off the limiter. Also, is revving the car more quickly worse that slowly?
