Howdy Gents,


Got a call from my dealer today and with the economic woes someone dropped their order for an R8. I was able to snap it up!

It goes into production in December for a January delivery. 6-spd. fully loaded, carbon fiber everywhere!

I've bought two cars from same dealership in last 12 months. A A-5 S-line and then a BMW M3. I don't think the R8 will be much if any faaster than my M3 but dang it's sexy!!

no number, they ask for $5K to put in their bank, and told me they will add my name to the wait list, 1.5 to 2 years... but no promises, this was back in July. Should I ask for a number?

You should definitely ask for a number, to find out how many people are ahead of you in line. That way, you can call/ask for updates monthly to see if you're moving up the list. 5k is a lot to put down with no idea of where you are on the list.

Good point, I did not know about the number part, thank you. I figured they told me 1.5 to 2 yrs, it is a long way away. They mentioned they are going to provide me with an update by end of this year. I am going to e-mail to see where I stand while my $5K continue to sit in Audi bank. R8, not soon....

your right it will not be any faster than a M3 as I have both, if anything I think the M3 is stronger high up the rev range and dare I say it maybe faster ! But the R8 is soo much better in everyother way !

my results between the M6 and the R8 is pretty close until 100+. I would imagine the M3 to not do as well as the R8

i raced a 2009 m3 .. we both we next to each other .. is the same power !!!

i tried 3 times with him same . and his m3 was modified (exhaust system, ecu tuned, slicks tyres) ..
