Microphone sensitivity on Bluetooth?

Is it possible to adjust the microphone sensitivity on the R8 Bluetooth system? When I am in a call, I hear the far end just fine, but they complain that I sound very quiet, and that they hear kind of a "whooshing" noise. I find myself repeating what I am saying since I am so difficult to hear.

I have discovered that on some R8's the microphone has been accidently placed in the passenger compartment side of the interior light rather than the drivers side, hence giving the person on the other end of the phone the impression that you are muffled or 10ft away from the phone. a simple swap of the microphone direction will solve this. There is no sensitivity adjustment on the microphone.

Thanks Rob - that is the problem. If I sit in the passenger seat, the problem goes away. By "simple swap" what do you mean? Is this something I can do, or will the dealer need to make the change?

I had mine replaced by the dealer - it is better but not perfect

What's the small micropohone-lookalike-thing in the headlining about 6" in front of the interior lights?

That mike listen's to the noise inside the cabin and adjusts radio volume accordingly.

I had the same problem. The dealer said it had been fitted with a LHD microphone. Not sure if it was the mic itself or the way it was fitted but either way the dealer sorted it and it's been much better since. It will never be great as the mic is a long way from your mouth and it has to compete with a screaming V8, but once fixed it should be acceptable. I would get the dealer to sort it rather than risking breaking any trim parts trying to do it yourself!
