Which Winter tyres are best???

Hey guys, I'm about to purchase a new set of winter tyres and I don't know which are best. The audi dealer is offering me to buy a set of Dunlop's (don't know the model yet) and I was thinking if it is better with going with a different brand, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, etc. Want to do some "driving" in the snow, want to get the best tyres that handle well. Do you guys have any suggestions?

The Dunlop Wintersport tire grips amazingly in slippery conditions and is a very good high performance tire on wet and dry roads as well. Good luck finding them in R8 sizes....guess your dealer must have if he's offering them, but they must be scarce.

my fav is continental wintercontact ts810 sport. it has very good grip... and the best make i think... u need luck to find them in r8 wheel size

The best tire shopping information website I know of is http://www.tirerack.com

They have very extensive customer survey data on the tires they sell: in the "performance winter" category the Dunlop Winter Sport D3 and M3 rate #1 and #2 respectively (Micheline Pilot Alpin #3) in overall performance and also tops in the wet handling and snow traction categories. Unfortunately, Tire Rack says they don't stock ANY performance winter tire in R8 sizes!!

I would be very interested to know what make/model/size winter tires others are finding for their R8's.

i had bad experiences with dunlop...
i suggest the german continental anyway...
