Current Market/Availability of new R8’s

Hi I am close to pulling the trigger on a new R8. I have spoken to a number of dealers in my area (NY/NJ/CT) and have gotten various responses from “you could have one built to spec within weeks to 8-9 months wait.
It's hard to tell how much of the truth I am being told.

Does anyone have a good handle on what the realistic availability is?

Also are all dealers charging MSRP or does it vary still?

When I ordered mine (ages ago ...I have had it for almost a year) I got the same mix of answers ... the only dealers who can tell you the truth are the ones who really have the authorization from Audi USA to sell this car new. You might want to check out which ones do because, in the Boston area, I found many who would take a deposit but not all were actually going to be able to do anything with it!
