Problems w/ R8

Hi,

I'd like to know if anyone has had any problems with the R8, being a new production car - i'd like to think that a few people have had problems with the car, can anyone please put some input into this?

zero problems after 2 months and 2k miles.

no real problems here after 6k miles/7 months other than the button pad falling off the key and the rear passenger tyre losing around 1psi per week but the rear tyres will need replacing relatively soon anyway.

none whatsoever, and JD Power just sent me a survey asking the exact question. I told them too! Should be great for our initial quality survey

My '08 R8 had a number of problems. Car refused to start after 1200 miles. Dealer had to change the spark plugs. My front differential and transmission were also replaced under warranty after the mechanic noticed some weird vibrations in the front end. I sold the car immediately after that service and ordered and '09. My '09 is ready and I am just waiting for delivery via flatbed ---2 more days . My dealer is in the northern US and I live in the south atm. I'll post if anything goes wrong with the 09

I've done 8,500 miles in the last year.

Total problems: Battery that would not hold a full charge. Replaced immediately.

A damper solenoid failed two hours after I drove the new car off the dealer's lot. In the ensuing four weeks a brake sensor and an engine sensor failed. The gas filler lid kept jamming on the retention strap, and once I had to have the car towed to the dealer to get it open. He solved the problem by cutting the strap off. The power steering fluid boils off, causing a loud groaning noise in the pump, and I've had to have it topped off twice in the first 11,000 miles.

It's a great ride when everything is working . . . which, unfortunately, isn't always.

Lowest fin on front offside kept springing out - fixed by Dealer

One of the front parking sensors came loose and now the same thing has happened to a rear one !

hmm surprising there seems to be a few small problems with the car - all around not one thing in particular. I've had four Audis. My A6 2006 - the gear shift froze - like the button on the gear selector, which was weird... Also the left and right vent kept on spittting out hot hair - that took about 2 weeks to fix!! My A8 (2007) had navigation screen problems.

I've only got a few hundred miles on mine, but I managed to get caught in a rain storm on my first drive out, and the windshield wipers dont work correctly. The right one stops completely and the left one only goes up half way.

Probably going to take to the dealer next week.
