Pick up my R8 Tomorrow

Well I have gone and done it now.

I'm picking up a year old R8 R Tronic in White with carbon and loads of extras tomorrow lunchtime.
I am so nervous, never seen the car as its miles away, never spent this amount of money before either on a car. (just got to pay it back now)
Test drove a couple of manuals and one R tronic locally but they werent the spec I was after.

Now my heads saying Woo hoo, but my stomachs churning saying god what you done.

Specially as I still have my M3 convertible as the part ex figure was a joke.

yup took a while and with all the help from you and others I finally got there. Even have the service discs coming as recommended by you Random.

Congratulations. I must say the cruise control would be the last thing you will use anyway. I think I turned it on once for several seconds to see if it worked! As far as second thoughts, I was with you (never spent that much on a car before and borrowed some to get it). Only one tiny moment of consternation the day after, but quickly faded into memory, as with or without others around, the thing is pure joy.

cruise control is no problem... that kills the driving fun... i never used that, and i have 10.000km-s...

I didn't spec cruise control on mine - never been a fan of it, never mind on a car like the r8 which is all about the driving. I've only used used auto mode on the r-tronic once and that was just to see what kind of mpg it gave compared to manual shifting.

Find it useful when in a Specs covered Area otherwise I get tempted to join all the others overtaking me.

Agree. V useful with the average speed cameras that blight our roads, but otherwise unused.

Having been banned - cruise is an absolute must for me as it stops the urge to go quite as quick as one might otherwise....
