    Phone Prep

I don't know whether another thread has dealt with this but, has anyone managed to solve the dire quality of the outgoing mike on the phone?

It can't be that tricky - both phone preps on my old A3 and the A6 worked very well. My dealer doesn't have a clue and Audi are not saying much. The demo they have has the same problem.

They swapped the mic on mine- but it is a waste of space. Don't spec it as it is a waste of cash!

I think I read somewhere that the rightside driver cars(UK, Japan, etc) are having this problem because the mic positioning is based on the leftside driver cars. I could be totally wrong about this but it's just a guess.

They swapped it round on mine, and changed the mike as well, but it still sounds as if I am calling on a cup and string phone! I'm going to ask for a refund if they cannot fix it.

    Re: Phone Prep

Phone simply does not work. Car's been in shop 4 times and they did everything possible, rewiring mike, exchanging it, changing whole component etc. To no avail. People still hang up on me - not only the ones who do not want to take my call. Therefore don't spec and for those who've taken delivery, ask for money back.

That's unfortunate. Mine works so well that the people I talk to never know I'm even in a car or on a speaker phone. I wonder what the real problem is?

    Re: Phone Prep

Yes i have posted about this before.

I have had a new mic and the position changed from left to right .

Also i was told to buy an iphone cradle .

All a waste of time .

I have not paired my phone in months

very frustrating, because it works so well in my A8.

    Still Love the car tho.

    Re: Phone Prep

I have not had any problems with my phone. It works as well as the one in my A8L. I am having difficulty downloading all of the names in my Blackberry into the R8. I have over 6900 names on the phone. The R8 will only upload 500 names. Does anyone have a solution? Can I purchase a larger SD card for the needed memory?
