Audi US November and YTD Sales of R8

The question of how many R8's sold in the USA has come up in several threads. Here is the data from today's (Dec 2nd) Audi USA press release:

I suppose those are cars shipped to dealers. Do you think retail sales may lag those numbers somewhat?

thx for the data, so maybe 1K R8 to the US by yr end, wonder wut the that number might look like for 09....

Good question. I thought that the figures represented sales to end customers (they also quote sales of Audi Certified Pre-Owned vehicles in the same press release). If the GAAP Revenue Recognition Rules for car manufacturers are anything like the ones imposed on my company ( ) I would expect these to be retail sales .... but I don't know.
