Audi Assistance confirms the number of 2009 R8 made for USA

This morning I called R8 Audi assistance regarding the possibility of using Sirius Satellite traffic and navigation services. They said the R8 is not upgradeable to this system.

Without being asked they told me there will only be 900 units of 2009 model year R8s made for the USA.

Interestingly Audi's press release of yesterday gave the following R8 "sales" figures for calendar 2008 and calendar 2007:

it will be interesting to see the break down of this data, Wonder how many of the 900 are in the Bay area?

I think that 2007 was for four months (September through the end of the year)

yes, I remembered the launch car was on tour thru all the dealers late summer. And the first avail car was close to Oct. That was when the wait list start to pile up, going from 1 yr, to 1.5 to 2..., The dealer near me even stopped taking orders for a while. Now u can walk in a dealer and find one or two on the floor.
