Launch control on R-Tronic is rubbish!

I've had my R8 for over 1 year now and to be honest, I have never been able to use the launch control without having White Smoke billowing out of the engine bay and fried clutch for dinner!!

I am convinced the ECU pulses the clutch too much to reduce the strain on the drivetrain and reduce warranty claims/component failure.

I've tried every possible combination:

1. Full Throttle, Foot on Brake, Revs hold at 5,500
2. Part Throttle, Foot on Brake, then floor it as I let go of the brake
3. Half Throttle, Foot on Brake, Revs hold at 3,000, then floor it.

Either way, they never give me a Tyre Smoking launch, always a Clutch Smoking affair!!!

I bet you our Manual Gearbox siblings don't have this problem? Or do they?

PS: Now, before everyone asks, YES, I know how to engage Launch Control by switching off ESP and Selecting SPORTS mode!

BZ888, based on the title of your posting, should I expect your R8 V10 will have the 6 speed MT?

thats weird my launch control works very nicely, I even get powerslides from time to time
