New Audi MMI

Anyone know if the new MMI system in the Q5 et al is backwards compatible? I'd imagine not due to some new features and the hard drive (space issues), but it would be great. I can't stand the head unit in this thing.

My dealer thought that the 3rd gen MMI may come with the 2010 R8's. Anyone heard the same?

Seeing as the R8 does not come with any MMI option (only RNS-E) I would be very surprised to see it come out in any future R8, well at least not until a completely new model.

A6(C6 facelift) has it as well as Q5......the rest of the models that have MMI as an option or standard fitment will gradually get it as well.

A8 will get it with the new model release.
