    Prospective R8 owner, few questions

    hey guys
i am in korea and planning to get an r8 in the near future.
i want a white one with a carbon sideblade and fortunately in a month, there will be one coming in. however, the only thing i dont like about that car is that it comes with an alcantara seat, no full leather.
id like to hear what your thoughts on alcantara seat are. i checked how they look like online, but i personally think full leather looks much nicer and i feel that it might be much harder to take care of too.
    i would appreciate your comments.
    in addition,
i know audi has started production of v10. will they still be making v8s? and there is no expected facelift or full change on the current r8 right?
nice to meet you all and thanks for your comments!

I have the full leather with electric seats and it is fantastic. I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope you manage to get the car.

I have the alcantara seats (they have leather bolsters ...it is just the area you sit on and the center panel of the seat back that are in alcantara). I think that they look really sharp and they have a significant advantage in that you don't slide around in the seat (I drove an R8 with leather seats at the Audi Sportscar Experience and the tendency to slide around on the leather when cornering hard is quite annoying).

I have the full leather and tend to agree here. I haven't tracked mine but enjoy taking 25 mph curves at 60, can almost generate a G! I have the alcantara headliner and wile it's great for noise reduction and looks sharp, it would look better with the alcantarea seats.

    That's just my 2 cents...

Agree 100% - that would really polish off an alcantara interior!

Agree with the leather seat sliding comment, but those kind of problems I would only expect if on a track. I use mine everyday and have no sliding issues with my leather seats.

Having the alcantara wheel would feel very racy.

there is a suede (not alcantara) steering wheel option - code YUC - also includes handbrake and shift knob. UK price is £625 (circa $900)

YUC (k) ! Pricey ,but an option I would get on my next car.Your steering wheel will eventually (ten-twenty years !) turn to suede! Unless you are very careful and only touch spokes with thumbs!
