How long did y'all wait for your R8?

I was negotiating with my dealer this afternoon. They said they only bring in 5 R8s every year. 5 have already been ordered for 2009 so I am gonna get my R8 next year. How long did y'all wait for your R8? I made up my mind and decided to get the R8 in silver with carbon side blades. Are carbon-ceramic brakes worth it?

In the UK I waited 15 months but I went for lots of CF which seems to delay delivery a bit (or it did before the credit crunch hit)

Why don't you fly to the US and purchase an R8 that is in inventory waiting to be purchased? Email around and find the car with the options you want and just go buy it. You can get a list of R8 dealers off of the Audiusa.com website.

I don't know anything about the export fees which you may need to consider.

I believe if you do a search for either '08-'09 model, you'll probably find over 100 on autotrader. As others have mentioned, not sure how much your taxes may be, but this may be the way to go since there's quite a bit of supply here in the USA

They're all over the place, check the usual places - Autotrader, Cars.com, oh, and eBay.

But be careful out there! I recommend a private party, one owner or CPO car from an Audi dealer, but these won't be the "deals."

Maybe this is a dumb question but aren't there limitations On bringing a US spec car overseas? I Know One Can't Bring A Uk Spec Model To The Us.

I think they drive on the same side as us(right or wrong side depending on where you are from) 5 for the entire year? Why wouldn’t Audi send more there if they can sell them? They are just sitting around in showroom here... I am in a small town and already met three owners, plus the four at just one dealer nearby.
