Hi,
Can anyone tell me why some R8s have red text for the computer, odometer etc and some have white? Is this configurable? Changed on newer models? Any Ideas?

I've had several Audi's in the UK and they have all had red text. Not sure if it can be changed.

white is the color for model year 09 onwards

I believe this was a change in later models. My MFD has white text

Thx for the info; now how do I get my red changed to white. After driving an '09 for 5 days, going back to red is fugly

Isn't HUD a heads-up display? Does the R8 really have this?

No, I think he means MFD/MFI... either way, I think the only way would be to do a swap no?

He means DIS "Drivers Information System", I dont think this can be changed, at least not without great expense.

I'd think it'd be a whole instrument cluster swap given it's the DIS and the ancillary displays too - can't see that being easy or cheap.

So many names for the same thing, but yes, i meant the various parts of the instrument cluster reporting milegae, time etcetc.. thx for the info anyway.
