    Removing the central section

    Hi,

Anyone know how easy it is to remove the central section in the car (where the handbrake Etc. is)? Reason is that I want to put a 12V socket where the phone-prep holder is (taking the 12V from the cigarette lighter) so I can put a DAB player there and hook it into the AUX socket.

    Regards.

I have heard the tunnel is a b*****d to remove, hope you have the Bentley manual. Let me know how you get on, I want to get the MAcarbon unit. Take some pictures if you do it yourself ;-)

    Re: Removing the central section

I always consult the Bentley before doing anything as their is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, at least in my case, and it is my daily driver ;-)

I also have the ElsaWin from Audi but that is more aimed at Audi technicians I think.

Can you consult the manual and let me know how easy/or how it is possible to remove this part?

    Re: Removing the central section

It doesn't look like rocket science - just fiddly. I've attached the main sections - the rest are pretty self explanatory.

    Re: Removing the central section

    Greatly appreciate it - thanks.

Must say though on first look, the instructions aren't that clear - It'll probably make sense printed out and being next to the car itself.

As it is the centre console I'm trying to remove, do you have the sections:

    Remove rear shelf
    Remove centre console trim
Remove storage compartment for centre console.
    Remove warning lamp
    Remove handbrake lever trim

With these bits, the job should be possible.

the handbrake lever trim is the third pic above. I've attached pics of all the remaining stages so you should have everything covered now.
