Is the R8's top speed of 187mph really limited?

In the US Audi website it says the R8's top speed of 187mph is limited. But according to some reviews they don't mention it being limited. Can anyone please clarify this.

It is not "limited".

But, having tried to get up to top speed on Bruntingthorpe's 2 mile straight, acceleration was very good to 160 mph, it then took quite a while to get to 171 mph and then I ran out of road !!!!!

To get to 187 mph, you need a very long straight or a cambered bowl.

Wind resistance is the limiting factor.
