    Auto Folding Mirrors

OK, I give up, is it possible to auto fold the mirrors when you lock and unlock the car like was possible on my 8k hire car ;-)

Also, is it possible to get the horn to chirp on lock/unlock eithe through a setting or via VAG-COM perhaps?
    Best Regards, Ian

    Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

there was a thread where harrison was talking about wanting to turn off the confirmation beep:

    Dang beep

so seems there is an option in the DIS menu for it.

    Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

The beep can also be changed with the VAGCOM... auto folding of mirrors is something I didn't think of tho. I'd like it so that when I open my garage door on the way home they auto-fold

Thumbs up Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

Despaado turned his beep off.He is striving to learn the Vag com system as well. When I pull into a tight spot I use the mirrors as closeness indicators...The beeps and chirps are telling me I am going to crash and burn like an airplane wreck every time I drive in!!! So far no mishaps!! Even pulling up driveway the sensors go crazy as my front tire bounces like a basketball being dribbled!! GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!

    Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

I have had my car in four times because my mirrors will fold in, but then they will not fold out. I see (or don't see) this as a safety issue. Has anyone else had this problem. It is to the point I don't fold my mirrors in any longer for fear they will not fold out.

    The dealer is baffled.

    Exclamation Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

You definitely have something WRONG there buddy.I remember a while back I had my car in the garage and accidently folded a mirror in.I wasn't sure if I did something seriously wrong, cuz of your problem, but when I returned from my business trip I just folded it back out manually, and then learned how to use the switch to fold the mirrors in and out .I thought maybe you were trying to make a joke on me to take my car into the dealer!! Boy was I dumb. You might have an Idiot dealer/ service tech. The mirrors must fold in and out with that knob !!!!!! Mine DO !!! (the dealer is just not right, running you around).Tell him you want some carbon fiber mirrors out of the deal or us here at the forum will have a blanket party on his A**.

    Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

The mirror switch does not fold the mirrors out. It appears there is an electrical short in the right mirror motor, but it is intermittent. Even when they see that something is broken they cannot find the problem. As soon as they pull in the scan tool the mirror snaps out. Maybe they need to give me a scan tool so I can use the folding mirror option.

Ask them to start replacing stuff peice by peice but that you want a V10 loaner. I can imagine it feels shi88y to leave your car away from its' home.
