Window Tint Problem

I've had my side windows tinted twice now with the same results. The ceramic film tears at the bottom when the windows close. My tint guy who has tinted at least a dozen cars in the past for me tells me there's something in the door causing this. Has anybody had this problem??

i did heard something about tinting this. You usually need to remove the door mould and tint the window below the rubber.

No, I've been using these guys for years. I never had a rework done on any of my previous cars. They do a great job.

The damaged film is on the drivers side, and the film has crumbled upward from the bottom of the window. The tint shop owner thinks there's some kind of guide or window buffer in the door causing the damage.

I wonder if this has something to do with my problem?...

No problems here. I had them tinted with llumnar automotive tint.

I had the same problem. I gave up after the 3rd times in the shop.

I've had the ceramic tint on my R8 for 7 mos now with no issues. I do know that my tint guy took the door off to get it tinted.

Audi service advisor thinks tint isn't getting enough time to take to the glass. He's saying window goes down a little when you open the door. So opening and closing the door after installing tint could cause damage. My M6 does this, and I never had a problem. Same tint guy.
