Is that R8 running a stock exhaust? Sounds "meatier" than stock.
2009 V8 R8 R-Tronic. Stasis exhaust, EVOMS airflow kit, APS remap.
On the subject of the R8 on snow, this is one of a great 4 part video drive report on the R8. Back during the introduction, Motor Trend drove their press loaner R8 on a long distance road trip, following as close as possible by road, the North American Pacific Crest Trail (!) from Mexican to Canadian Border in late winter or early spring.
They were on summer tires and got into some real serious snow, especially at Crater Lake N.P. in Oregon (see video #3 I think). They crossed just about ALL the major Sierra/Cascade passes and never got stuck (though it looks like maybe it was close at Crater Lake!). Very entertaining for the R8 enthusiast. Shows you what a great Grand Touring car in the best European traditions the R8 is.

This is part 1 of 4. You can find the other 3 at the same place, or go to Motor Trend, videos, audi, and you'll find the series on about p.3.
I have posted about this before, a long time ago, so forgive if you've already seen this. It's one of my favorite R8 reviews!

Randombloke.....thanks for posting. I never would have seen that video. I grew up there in Upper New York State on that lake, Lake George.....named for one of your prior Kings! I spent many days freezing in that cold and can attest to the foot plus of ice on the lake in the Winter.
Thanks for the memories.
