Daytona Pearl + Which sideblade help!

Hey! I've finally decided to lock in a daytona pearl R8, but I'm still debating the sideblade!

I like the "pop" colour effect of the white R8, with the black (or carbon) sideblade, and was hoping the daytona pearl + quartz grey would do that... I finally found some pictures of the quartz sideblade, plus... was lucky enough to spot the same one in person!

This seems to be one of the better pictures I found of the quartz sideblade:
    http://forums.audiworld.com/showthre...daytona+quartz

So... I'm looking for something a bit lighter, and it looks like the options basically are:

    Apollo Silver
    Ice Silver Metallic
    Oxygen Silver.

I found a picture of the oxygen (I think!) here:
    http://forums.audiworld.com/showthre...tona+oxygen+r8
Which.. I think looks pretty good, but it would be nice to see this in more natural light!

    I found this link too:
    Daytona Grey/Ice Silver? What Color?
Which seems to have Daytona/Quartz, but... about 4 images down, that sideblade looks much brighter... Is it just the lighting or, actually a lighter blade?

More to the point, does anyone know of a site where you can really see how these look, and, do people have any opinions as to the daytona/oxygen daytona/ice daytona/apollo combinations?
I'm leaning towards oxygen... but.. worried it's a bit too bright?

    Thanks!
    - Justin

can't say I've seen a car with the Oxygen silver sideblade, but my dealer has a box of the std. options for colors, interior finishes, leathers, etc. for the R8 and it has a sample of the Oxygen silver: it is very light and bright!

I think that's a std. sampler for the R8, ask your dealer if you can look at it.

Of course, that is a weak substitute for seeing it on a car. It is difficult to comtemplate ordering something you're going to have to live with without ever actually seeing it. Basically that kept me from doing an "Exclusive" exterior color, though I was quite tempted.

Oh nice! I asked the dealer, and the best I could get was a pamphlet with pictures of a few colours... They didn't seem to have much else. I'll try again though!

We got the colour coded sideblade on our daytona Grey. Not sure if that the option or std.

I couldn't seem to find a thread you've posted in the media section, but I did come across:

Is this Oxygen silver? If so, looks great!

Possibly that black leather covered box of R8 "surfaces"
(it has big two-tone paint samples of the combo of std. colors for body and side blade; wood blocks "upholstered" with the std. leathers and alcantara; smaller pieces covered with the c.f., piano black, std. and alcantara headliner material AND,
I believe I recall, small samples of the c.f. and oxygen sideblade colors)
is an "R8 Dealer" sample kit.

As we've all heard, "R8 Dealers" had to step up with an investment in equipment, designated tech, etc. and maybe that sample kit is an R8 Dealer thing. It's not a lot different from similar "volumes" of samples my dealer has in a rack for the various models. But, if I understand correctly, the R8 Dealers get the lion's share of the R8 allocations and if you're not looking through one, maybe they don't have the stuff for R8s?

A good picture is going to be way better though, than a small color "chip", for helping you decide.

PS: just looked at that pic. (above post) of the Oygen Silver on Daytona Gray and I think it looks great!! My dealer gave me a crack at a Daytona Gray with c.f. blade car that had been "declined" on delivery. That combo, just to me personally, was waaay too somber.
I live in a very cloudy part of the world with long gray winters and a gray car just wasn't to my taste. BUT, the Oygen Silver blade really zips up the look! I think I would have a whole different attitude toward that color on an R8 if it had that blade! And you are NOT going to see yourself (ever on the street, just in an R8!) at a gathering of R8s because I think almost everyone who specs. an optional blade goes with the c.f..

I'm a bit confused about my dealer, it's one of the largest in N Cali I think, Steven's Creek Audi actually...

Anyway, I think the last set of pictures sold me on the Oxygen, it looks way to snappy to pass up!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I'm looking forward to it!
