    Can't Drive 35

OK folks. This car is becoming useless in Los Angeles. After a year with it, 6 months ago I broke 130mph in a 35mph zone, and 150mph+ on a trip. That was it, twice in one long year.

I feel like a caged animal. Going to a track to open it up just doesn't give me that instant "I need it now" feeling. Maybe I'm just too scared to get in trouble now. Just too many cops everywhere it seems.

I don't know what else to say. I'm sure there are more that feel like me throughout the world.

Lightning, We still have it good.Just a short drive to Angeles Crest, time it right for the coppers.it's just a bad city like all cities.Give me the Alps,or Austria for sure but those are Far,Far away, even for the Germans who make the car !! You gotta feel so sorry for the Germans.Sure they have the Autobomb but even Davey Dee could drive the BAHN.Our cars were meant to be slid around corners. While in Stuttgart recently, I had a need for speed in some corners and I had to drive two 'n a half hours to find a twisty section.BUT it was the healthiest dose of multiple hairpin curves that I ever saw.WELL worth the drive. But that was it.I googled all of the Stuttgart areas and couldn't find ANY descent stretches of uninterrupted twisty sections exept for the one.And the place is HEAVILY monitered on weekends because it is SO popular (i forgot the name of town below the twisties,,But it's below the Baggersea) I went there on a weekday and had the place all to myself and my BMW Boxer Cup .Europe does'nt just envy Calis' ****ty weather but also our roads.

You must be more pissed off in AZ than we are in LA. LA doesnt even have any open roads, so we kinda planned for this. But AZ has awesome wide open roads, and you must be more pissed off with all those traps.

Keep hope alive. One day we'll be free to do 150 as we wish (but probably not).

I'm about the 20 minutes in between home and grabbing groceries. Just out of nowhere, floor it and go through the gears. Just cant do it.

Thumbs up Re: Can't Drive 35

If you have the time for a few days out of town, there's thousands of miles of 2 lane blacktop in the West with no one on it. Head north on US 95, or 93 or any of a ton of roads. I just got back from a 4200 mile road trip thru 8 Western states, some on 2 lane and some on 4. In central Wyoming, I drove for over 2 hours in I-15 without seeing another person, let alone vehicle. Lots of antelope here and there but thats ALL! Head out and blow the cobwebs out!

If you're not paying attention and happen to rip by one of these parked on the side of the road, all you can do is smile and give them the one finger salute! It makes for an interesting conversation piece when the citation arrives in the mail 10 days later.

Even though my car came with installed K40 Radar/Lasar I hardwired in an escort 9500ix. Finds all those pesky red light cams and speed cams, Just need to keep it up to date with downloads
