    hello from a new member

I just wanted to get a post in and say hello!

I've been trolling around here for a couple of weeks to help educate myself on the R8 before pulling the trigger on an order for a 2010 model. Thanks for the useful info - especially on exhaust systems. I had driven my local Audi dealers owner's R8 which was equipped with the Stasis exhaust and that pretty much sold me on it right away!

Welcome! And that was a V8! Are you ordering the V10?

    Thanks!

I'm going with the V8. I can't justify the premium on the V10 in my mind and I don't care much for the ten-spoke "Y" design wheels either (although I know you can order different ones). Here is what I ordered:

    daytona gray pearl effect color
    black leather/alcantara interior
    6 speed manual
    convenience package
    carbon fiber sigma sideblade
carbon fiber sigma engine compartment inlays
    Bang & Olufsen sound system
Audi navigation system plus with Audi music interface
    titanium finish aluminum alloy wheels
    Stasis exhaust system
'10 Audi R8 V10 (daytona gray pearl effect, CF sideblades, titanium finish wheels, STaSIS exhaust/ECU)
'12 Tesla Model S Signature Series (on order)
    '11 Cadillac Escalade ESV
    '06 Lexus RX 400h
    '03 Chevy Corvette 50th Anniversary
    '94 Dodge Viper
    '69 Chevy Camaro SS/RS

The V10 might get you a few more thrills but it does come at a premium. The V8 car is very well balanced and power is more that adequate for daily driving. The titanium wheels look great with Daytona. I have an Ice Silver car and am thinking about ordering a set. Is your dealer going to install the Stasis before you take delivery? VERY COOL - that's the way to do it, part of the purchase price.

I agree - I think it is a knock out combination. I have not seen any good pictures nor have seen the titanium wheels in person but descriptions on this board have been helpful and confirmed my decision. Please post pics if you end up getting them for your car.

Yes - that way I don't have to get the car and then have to part with it right away to get the exhaust put in.

Thanks to SDR8 for pics of his Titaniums ,with pics along side the plains. Way to go. Are the Plains harder to keep clean looking? I used to have the plains and they kept me busy cleaning. How are the polished for staying clean? The combo I have now is letting me enjoy driving more than cleaning.Where are the wheels made ??

Welcome! For me, I did not care for the side blades of the v10. The v8 blades are much more integrated with the body. And you are right about those Ninja style wheels.
