Especially after I waxed him several times from stoplight to stoplight in Huntington Beach.He was driving the SWEETEST sounding A.M. DB Lic.# DB007...Might have been a V10?? It sounded better than a Gallardo w/exh. kit !!! A very brazen driver too.Over and over he praised the R8.Another fellow in a bone stock F430 Red Vert was gawking over the R 8 too .All in all today was my R8s' best day for verbal compliments.I am blown away to get such respect from these older ,richer,dudes at the top of the car food chain. Let's see what the Enzo guys at the Concorso Italiano feel Aug 14th. Tonite will feel like I'm sleeping on a Helium mattress !! Some H.B. Police gave me the thumbs up while others gave me STINK-EYE. I can make a lot of noise with the Miltek...Imagine the trouble I would get into with a STASIS or Capistro...NO THANKS. One more funny thing...while waiting for stop lite to change I noticed cute driver along side me plugging her ear giving me the message...So I put R8 into auto w/ sport mode off and tried to be as quiet as a sleping kitten for her. I didn't enjoy being curtious too much. Since I took the R8 out in the morning and thrashed all day I thought ,why not blast the canyon before retiring the R8 this eve.On uphill sections with ASR/ESP shut off , I did'nt have the annoying unwanted down shift happen...but on down hill section car did downshift by itself once but it was not bothersome. Peice out !!

There are no V10 Astons. Either V8 (Vantage) or V12 (Vantage, DB9 or DBS)

I can't imagbine my V 8 snuffs the V 12. 'Musta been a V8. Eventually I will see him again and find out for sure. It really made an Italian sound !! Good looking out Garyhun from the U.K.!!

Maybe it has a Brit exhaust too that sounded so...ORIGINAL for my ears .More of an original sound rather than Italian.Italian is the closest I can compare it too. Later in the day I saw a stock Austin that made NO sounds,nor did the driver want to return my thumbs up. An Austin has some impressive lines "fo sure. The rear lower half looked a bit R8ish and the front fenders are tough too,But my front end is what impressed my new Bond buddie too. :-)

This may be a little nerdy, but the engineer who does the amazing sound tuning for Ason Martin is in fact Japanese.

Maybe on the stock system? I have heard the stock system and it is weak sauce compared to the aftermarket kit I heard yesterday. The Japanese sound is getting better and better on the asian imports though. F1 sound is what I really dig. Just not for me now though. I don't want to make enemies of my neighbors...YET. ...'Till just before I move away.

I may be wrong but the stock (euro?) system is LOUD, you can hear it coming from miles away. Does the US get a quieter exhaust anyone (on the AMV8)

Don't know , yet . The U.K. guys are so hot for the R8...Austin must be the right stuff too . Might just be the ultimate family car !!
