V10 In Incognito

Two new V10's arrived in our local area on Saturday. One in showroom already and the other...

When possible Stu, can you look and see what the Nav system is like....is it the newer hi-rez screen or the older version?

My V10 was built later (since it is on the ship now!), so mine might have the new Nav system and the one at your dealer may have gotten an older one, but from the AoA press release, they seem to indicate that all of the V10s will have 3d graphics and real-time traffic updates, only found on the newer units.

Time will tell what system I get, but it will be interesting to know what the first arriving cars have.

Sure Steve. I hope to get into these cars early this week. This black car is VIN ...220. they also received a silver V10, VIN...290. Not sure of the build weeks. These are reported to be promo cars of some sort, allocated and spec'ed by Audi.

My VIN is......546, so it was built quite a bit later than the cars you saw. (If they number in sequence.) So everything is still up in the air about the Nav. system I'll get.

I hope to have the car late August or early Sept........I so stoked!!!!

I found the picture showing the rust on the "pilot" in the center of the wheel was interesting. I always thought it must have happened to mine from washing the car, but apparently it happens on the boat on the way over here. I wonder if the Euro cars don't get so rusted in that area since there is no overseas shipping?

Good eye! Did the rust start seeping out of the caps on your car or did you find it changing wheels? Can you tell what's rusting? Not that I have a rust problem in the desert, but I haven't had the wheels or caps off.

My rust was easily brushed off and cleaned up before spraying with a little rust preventing silver paint (Rustoleum brand)

I like them....and they are better looking in real life supposedly. They are certainly unique!

My M6 has wheels virtually the same as the original R8 wheels. So this change to the Y wheel is really welcome for me.

But when you order, you can change the wheels to the original R8 wheels if you desire them. But you should look at them in person before jumping back in time!
