I would also like to see the same two racing against a clock. The R8 was right on the tail of the bike and wanted to pass several times. I am curious of how each would do separately. I also understand a lot of outcome could be from the skill of the driver/rider, the track, conditions and many other variables.

Even though the bike was a little quicker, I would still pick the R8. I like a bit of metal wrapped around me for safety. I also thought it was interesting that he used a manual trans in the first bit, and then the R-Tronic.

I would have hated to be the biker in that race. What do you think it feels like to have 3600 lbs following you at those speeds. I am sure that the R8 driver was being careful not to get too close as well.

You rekindled my anger . I was going 146 Mph on my BMW motorrad Boxer Cup on the autobahn a while back. I was in the fast lane where I should'nt have been . A BMW CAR passed me on my left at an angrier speed yet. He came within inches of touching me. It was my own fault. But I thought I was going pretty fast. Not FAST ENOUGH !! You would think the BMW car would have a little respect for a BMW motorrad. I guess he was just teaching me a lesson. But I could have been killed if I had lost controll at those speeds. LESSON LEARNED. Motorrad is German for motorcycle. Maybe it was the American flag sticker on my fairing he did not like?
