Site designed to intentionally load is this crap way?

So is it intentional that nothing of value loads for the first 10-15 seconds? If you really want people to see ads, make them good ones. This is so **** annoying that every time I want to view a thread or make a post, the forms don't load until the ads have all been sitting on the screen for a while.

This is a forum dedicated to a $150K car. Find some static sponsors that sell quality stuff that we'd want and let us click them when we see fit. I know of forums that generate huge amounts of money with only the most basic of banners. And everything loads fast!

Try using a different browser? I'm using Google Chrome and everything loads up quite fast unless my internet is going slow.

My pages load decently fast. To really avoid delays I also click on the link for new posts and then look at that list. If I see a topic I am interested in, I right click it and open it in another tab (browser set to not switch to this new tab until I click on the tab). I keep going down the list to see if there are other topics I am interested in. When I am at the end of the list I click on the "Quick Links" and select "Mark Forums Read", as that tab is refresshing I switch to the next tab and start reading. All the other tabs are fully loaded and no waits.

Better yet - use Firefox and install AdBlock Plus and get rid of the ads entirely.

Chrome, firefox, whatever. The problem is that the content loaded first is the ads, not the forum.
