What happened to all the V10s from the demo days?

I thought Audi UK had a load of V10s for the demo days ... I was expecting to see a few on the used circuit .. not seen any

Any ideas?

When I tested the V8 on the Audi Invitation day at Rockingham Circuit I asked what would happen to the 15 cars we were using. I was told that they would not be allowed to get into the used market - they would in fact all be crushed

I guess the same applies to the V10 ?

I find that really hard to believe. They should send them to Sonoma to the "Audi Sports Car Experience" before they consider crushing them!

I believe this is true as I was told that is what they do to Lamborghinis as well.

When I was @ the A.S.Exp. in Sonoma, I asked someone what would happen to all the R8 trainer cars, that apparently, like all the press cars, are owned by Audi (or AudiUS, the importer of record). I was told the same thing: eventually these cars will be destroyed, sometimes after useful analysis for wear and tear effects.

The reason, apparently, is that Audi, being the owner during the time they were "ridden hard and put away wet," would not want them to fall into the hands of a regular "consumer," where their reputation might in some way be impugned by a badly used car.

Seems reasonable. Also keeps the price up

Arrr I know about Lambos .. I was at Brands Hatch .. next week the LP560 was forsale at the Reading dealer ..in fact I took a vid of it ..

Watch out for 'plates starting OY, OE, or OV......
