Sure, it plays a bit more bass in the R8 but the regular Audi SS sounds better in every other aspect![]()

Get the ALCANTARA headliner...It improves the sound, (Just kidding!) I am happy with Audi on this one There is'nt much room for a killer system in the R8 ...but I am almost content with the B&O. My H3 truck, Monsn s
und system pounds louder/harder , with less amperage usage,...but it has AL
T of room!!!

Is it something to do with the amount of speakers? I'm guessing there's less in the R8?
The sound system is not great, but better than the Bose in my previous 997TT. Difficult to get good sound separation in such a small space.
2009 V8 R8 R-Tronic. Daytona Gray/Limestone Gray, Carbon Sigma Sideblades, 19" polished alloy wheels, Extended Leather, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, CD Changer, Satellite Navigation Plus, Premium Package, Stainless Steel Pedals, Park Assist Advanced with Reversing Camera. Carbon engine compartment Trim. Black Alcentara Headliner.
Who cares! R8's engine sound is the only thing that matters. I never listen to music in my R8.

drbf is correct. The small space does not allow for all the separated freqs to combine at the right time. The amount of speakers are correct but the amps could use about 100 more watts.

If the bass is fine, then power isn't the issue - as the speakers could be more efficient for the same power. I think it is just the volume of air in the cabin that is limiting the performance.
Also the B&O system isn't the ALT tech used in other cars with B&O which monitors the cabin to measure reflections and other factors and adjusts the output accordingly.
Different subject but related. Does the B&O have a noise attenuating feature that raises and lowers the volume depending on ambient noise in the cabin? I swear I heard this going on during my recent trip to Monterey but could not find a setup setting to enable/disable. I don't recall anything in the manual but am about to get it out again.
