    Hi From London

Hi From London UK. Looking to buy an R8 and found this great forum!

So to kick things off? What should I look for in an R8 which is a couple of years old.

Of course - Service history and general car check - but are there any firmware updates, or recalls I should be aware of?

    Many thanks

If you buy from a dealer they should do all updates as a matter of course.

Had mine 5 weeks now - awesome machines. You'll love it!

    Re: Hi From London

Mag ride is a MUST! It allows you, with a button press, to have the suspension either soft(er) for road driving giving a very compliant ride or hard for more spirited (and track day) driving.

Other option I would say go for (personal this though so others may differ)

    MUST HAVES
Extended leather - gives leather all over entire dash and other places
    SatNav
    Electric Seats
    Parking system

    NICE HAVES
    Heated seats
Bang and Olufsen - if you like your music. However engine sound is better.
    Stainless steel pedals and footrest
    Bluetooth phone prep
    Cruise control
    Auto dimming mirrors
    tyre pressure monitors

    MONEY NO OBJECT
Go for carbon engine inlays - very sexy

    Good hunting

    hey from london too !!

r8s are such a rarity on the road here.. id definitely go for the advanced parking system if i had the chance to re-spec.. agree with all the options above.. also, if ur using an ipod, make sure u at least have the aux-in port in the central console - the AMI seems like a waste tbh..

I agree with the above list and try to find one with the CF engine inlays. On a used car you will not pay any more for most options. I would also have the car examined by a good certified Audi R8 service tech. if not purchased from an Audi Dealer.
