    Squeakingnoise from engine compartment

My V8 R8, with Carbon Fiber trimmed engine compartment has developed the habit of emitting a rubbing/squeaking noise, from behind the seats, after the car has warmed up and has been run. I get the feeling that it has something to do with the CF panels rubbing, but I don't know where to start diagnosing the problem. Has anyone had this problem and what is the solution?

Sounds like a dealer problem to me. Audi generally add a small cloth strip on the edge of any panel that touches another (see the edge of the radio surround where it touches the monoposto). I also saw an Audi bulletin for the CF sideblades which added some foam/felt rubbing pads. Get the dealer to sort and give you a V10 or RS6 for playtime.

I had a rubbing noise where the engine cover touched the carbon fiber on passenger side. You could see a worn area on the CF. The dealer put in a pad and the noise disappeared.

Did they replace the CF that was worn? Or did the pad cover it up so it wasn't noticeable?

If you're a very young couple, (teens), the squeaking from the rear of ANY car might be from something else entirely!

Hmm I've also recently starting hearing a squeak from what seems to be the engine bay / somewhere behind the seats. Going over any small bumps makes it squeak in time with the bumps Could you say approximately where in the engine bay the rubbing was happening?

I had a squeak which sounded like it was coming from the foam in the bulkhead behind the seats. It was v irritating when going over a bumpy surface, but I knew I was getting shot of the car. I now have a squeak in the new car around the cd player - can't win!

That sounds a bit more like mine actually at least its pretty quiet
What IS quite annoying though is that my windows (driver side especially) have developed a 'squeak' when going up/down, which I think was discussed in another thread, I'm going to get them to look at it soon.

I went to the dealer today. Tech said the noise was coming from clips that hold the high m ount brake light in place. Car will be serviced next Monday.........we will see.
