V10 vs Gt-R(Subtitle)

I learnt this the hard way last Friday during a lapping day......guy showed up with a GT-R and amazed me with the speed and agility of the car.....could not shake him to save my life and took everything to keep him behind!!!! Thanks god he started in back of me!!! LOL

But.......the two cars just don't compare in the looks department!!! The R8 is so much nicer to look at and listen to!!!! I really do not regret my decision and never will

I call my GT-R "butt ugly"(so christened on this forum)and apt.

Unfortunately?? The GT-R gets equally as much as attention and comments from both sexes as my R8

After driving a GTR on a track day - I was totally blown away. The car is all power and all grip - absolutely stunning in all regards - never driven anything like it ever. Unfortunately Nissan USA will completely void your warranty if you take a GTR on a track of any sort for ANY reason (clearly written out in the 2010 purchase/disclosure letter.) Too many folks here have destroyed that very expensive dual clutch transmission at a cost of $20K plus to repair.

Not willing to take the chance of no warranty otherwise I'd have one in my garage (next to the R8)

I had a deposit on a GTR for over 18months (prior to the release of the car) and would have been one of the 1st official UK cars from my dealer.

Due to Nissan policy on warranty and spec change (non/satnav) I had to pull out.

I did get to drive the car at Nissan race academy - Silverstone and must say it is just brutal, fast and the handling is far superior than anything below £100k price tag.

It does demand respect and the attention it gets justified.

On trackday I saw a GT3 (997) just about keep up with the GTR so that does something about the car.

Only down side IMO is the size...its huge!! and the interior lacked quality/refinement. Other than that it the best bang for buck!!

Lucky in Oz as we can track a Gtr with full warranty coverage..incl trans!
