Best Driving Music

I know Top Gear has come up with a couple of driving cd's, with some good some average music on them, but we haven't.

Anyone interested in compiling an online CD of top driving tracks and/or top driving CDs?

I've just come back from town listening to B52's Funplex at high volume, and tracks 5, 10 and 11 have a fantastic driving beat, in fact the whole CD does, so I would nominate FUNPLEX for starters.

I muted the CD when overtaking lines of traffic, so please, no comments about engine music or exhaust notes

I think I'll try some early B 52s, now that you bring them up. The rythm/beats are in my head NOW !! Rock Lobster, Planet Idaho, Lava, and one live song you probably have'nt heard : Devil in my car. These days anyone can make music , and listening to my buddies band (PRO-PAIN) really rocks my drives too. Do you get sattelite channel AREA? or BBC ? These teckno,trance channels are pretty good drivers too. IMO Have a nice flight !!

People still use CDs? I haven't loaded a single CD in my R8 yet. I have several SD cards that hold a lot of music and there is no risk of skipping or loading times of the different disks.

My tastes change to much for CDs, I would rather have a broader selection on different SD cards and select them as needed. Sat radio is nice too, but it gets annoying if you are by bridges or other things that block the signal from time to time.

Just been playing some vinyl. Bowie's Putting out Fire with Gasoline. I'd have that for some retro driving music. And Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird?

What's an SD? There's a couple of slots behind the sat nav but the 12" won't fit.

For my driving music I am pretty much stuck in the eighties with Whitesnake,Scorpions,Gary Moore etc..mixed with some latest Greenday.

When my 13yr old son is in the R8 all he ever plays is Beatles..1966 onwards NON STOP!!! Go figure
