Am I mad; Should I wait?

I've had my "used purchase" one year old R8 for 2 and a half months now. It's Mugello blue with oxygen sideblades and light grey leather.
    I LOVE it!!!!!

Tempted now to go for a new one as I know it's the car for me and fancy an "untouched by others" new one.

So the Q..... should I do it now or enjoy the fab value one I have for a year as there should be upgrades in 12 months as well as other engine options (V8 turbo)?

    Confused...too right I am

Try getting a trade in price just now - you might change your mind about a new one.

I would change or mod a couple of things in the car to make it feel like your own. I farted in mine for the first time the other day - no-one's going to buy it now!

Gary - I concur with Mike. I got the NEW itch, placed an order 11/07, watched the global economy meltdown and then decided to follow through with the order. Took delivery 12/08. My 2009 car ($131K list) has a wholesale value of $100K less than a year later and we're already seeing 2008 R8s in the $90Ks here in the US.

IMO, there are a significant number of R8s on the market at very reasonable prices because production has caught up with demand. The world's production slowed down significantly over the last couple of years but Audi's R8 production did not so it's really a pre-owned buyer's market now. This is not likely to improve for some time.

When Audi puts a DSG in their V10, I'll start looking for a used one with your colors, but I wouldn't order new again. Enjoy your car & buy something else with the $ not spent on a new one!

We are still ahead of the game...compared to Lambo pricing on used models. My buddy recently paid over 3,000.00 for a scheduled maintenance (the pearl yellow '06 Gallardo). He has only 8k miles. But a pre-owned Lambo Spyder, that still has a bit of warranty left, sure sounds enticing. Would keep the NEW itch at bay for a while longer. And if you say the DSG is the way to go , I beleive you. A proper sounding R8 V10 Spyder with DSG could also be a desired model.

Good to get other points of view. Thanks for replying and I THINK you're both right. Hopefully a plot of land to build on will crop up shortly and remove the spare money I thought I might use on a car

LOL!!!! Man, that makes both seats in mine worthless. ****.

    -----------------

I tossed around the idea of a V10 and have decided to stick w/my present ride and play with it instead.

I weighed the options, took into account that I paid a premium when I purchased mine (was well worth it to me too - I love this thing and it's worth every penny.) and realized that it would end up being a major hit in the wallet if I went that way. BTW, mine was used to the whopping tune of 168 miles.

I plan on waiting for my 50K mark to hit - past warranty - and then will start talking to VF Engineering. There are a couple things I wouldn't mind adding to my present car to make it "more mine" - I like the illuminated kick plates, maybe a couple more carbon goodies and that supercharger.

Keep your present car and take the money you'd spend upgrading to a new one and put it into it.

As I got a great used deal on mine I know I would not lose much hence the temptation. Oh, and those lovely buckets are calling my name... the buggers
