    new...thinking MY2010 R8 V8, price right?

    Hello all,

I'm thinking of dropping a purchase order for a MY2010 R8 V8 in the near future. My dealer has quoted me 127k for the following:

V8 6sp, convenience pgk, leather pkg, enhanced leather, alcantara headliner, oxygen silver sideblade, piano black inlays, bang sound, audi nav plus w/ music interface and titanium finish 19" rims

I've seen some responses suggesting comparing the price to a relevant market. I'm overseas in Germany and dont have a market to compare to (diplomatic sales). Not paying TTL as there is no need.

wise to take this price or look stateside for a used V10 near the end of next year?

also thinking of going after the S5 or RS5....I know the cars are not the same...I'd be less worried about ppl messing with the RS/S5....

    any advice will be welcomed...

sorry for any confusion. is 127k, out the door, a good price for the V8 with these options:

V8 6sp, convenience pgk, leather pkg, enhanced leather, alcantara headliner, oxygen silver sideblade, piano black inlays, bang sound, audi nav plus w/ music interface and titanium finish 19" rims

    better?

Are you talking Euros in Germany?

If you are talking Euros or GBP, then no especially if you are supposed to be getting it tax free.

I'm not sure how diplomatic sales work but I thought they hook u up with an american dealer from whom u buy the car and it is delivered (US spec) to an overseas dealer. $127K is not a terrible price for your heavily optioned car but the fact that u get to drive it in Germany? Gimme a break that option is worth an upcharge. Take it to the ring and I'll be officially green.

One thought would be to get the RS5 and then import it when you return home, since I believe it's not available in the USA otherwise.

You could add a US spec R8 to your stable after your return, either as an additional car or trade up.

Thanks for the responses. I've spoken with one of the salesmen here and the process seems straight forward, but full of messy paperwork. Basically the dealer here contacts Audi of Germany to purchase a US spec car in dollars. Once the car is complete, it is put on a truck/train to the port - as are other Audi's destine for the US. At the port, someone shows a pile of paperwork and the car is diverted back to, I believe, Mannheim. That's where I will take delivery.
You guys are right! Driving on the autobahn daily is a real treat....except for staus...they can be miles long. Its nothing for me to cruise to work each day at more than 120mph....

Garyhun - price is in dollars.

desperado - I'm seriously looking to see if the RS5 will be available to the US. From the looks, sounds and rumor mil it might be really good!

    Thanks for all the input.
