At the time, there was not an option for carbon fiber illuminated door sills. They had either illuminated door sills or CF door sills. The US still doesn't have this option, but I believe it is available in Europe now.
Kfab, in the thread above I linked, took a pair of illuminated door sills and Carbon Fiber door sills and integrated them together. In a nutshell, he removed the illuminated devices from the illuminated sills, cut out a like portion in the CF sills, and mounted the illuminated device to the CF sills. I followed his thread and it turned out great - but it not for the faint of heart but doable.
As for wiring, for those cars not wired, you have to splice into the foot well lights. You then run a wire from the dash down the sides, and under the carpet, near the door, and run the wire towards the back. To get to the door sill area, there is a vent underneath the side skirts, so those need to be removed as well. From the vent, you can go string the wire through the side skirt and up to area were the sills are mounted.
To get to the vent is another issue. A previous very vague install guide suggested you drill a hole in the door well. I didn't want to do this, and actually found access to this area from the interior at the back of the cabin. By removing the rear deck behind the seats, there are some access ports underneath the deck at both sides. Stringing wiring through was tricky but it was easier to string a stiffer wire from the vent side into the cabin, and then when you find the stiffer wire, you can couple the two wires together and pull the other wire through the vent.
I was going to do a write up with pictures many moons ago, but lack the time and Kfabs instructing skills!![]()

Its neon red on my car.
Looks good on my 2012 GT. just looked at an S8 with them and is nice detail. Would I pay much for it... No... But if the car has it... Do it. My car has the carbon fiber with the lighting and it does look nice. If I'm paying almost 200k for the car which ummm.. Yes it may as well have it for a little extra cost.
