Hi all,

I have never owned any R8 (till yesterday) I had a half hour test drive in a dealers V10 demo and have driven my friends V8 for a few hours in total but that's all.

Re rims, I just didn't like the V10 ones, YMMV

Re Ipod connection, I have only tried it with my iphone G3. All the songs, play-lists etc etc come up on the car LCD and you can search them. If you change the AMI lead to the supplied USB one you can then plug in a USB mem stick or other USB device and the contents all comes up on the car screen. The USB AMI connection seems to play any format except Apple lossless, it does read the track names though. The card slots behind the screen seem to read MP3 only.

The thing that really struck me straight away was how the R-tronic seems considerably better than the two other R8s I have driven. I think it must have had a software update as the 'auto' mode is almost as good as an auto box. Its so good I may even use it once in a while.

Right, got to go out and test the high beam assist and advanced parking (at least that's what I'm telling the GF.....)
