How is demand for the R8 V10?

    Hi,

While my dealer says the V10 is in short supply, Autotrader lists 32 V10's in stock and on the ground for sale around the US.

Has demand really dropped off for the V10? Any thoughts why?

How do you guys see future value on the R8 V10?

Re: How is demand for the R8 V10?

My dealer in the UK says 90% of orders he is taking now are for the V10. Wait time seems about 6 months.

Lets face it, all cars do their brains over a few years but personally I think the V10 will hold it's value better than some, especially if the V10 is replaced by a V8 turbo, because it will always be the 'R8 with a Lamborghini engine'

But then I would say that

Re: How is demand for the R8 V10?

That's funny, my dealer was calling me almost daily trying to get me to put a deposit on the R8 V10, saying there was a 6 month waiting list, too. However, there has been one in a dealership 15 miles away that they've had sitting there for 3 months now! It's only priced at around $168k, too. As of last week, there were over 30 for sale sitting within 100 miles (I live in the LA-area), and over 90 nationally.

I think certain dealers have had demand and received their allocations (such as my dealer), but overall demand (I think) is surprisingly low.

Don't forget I'm in the UK not the USA and I'm talking about a car built to your spec not someone else's.

I am sure in this climate there are unsold cars in showrooms here too but personally, if I'm going to spend £100k + on a car I want it exactly how I want it :-)

Good. May all the dealerships fill with 160k inventory items so they will finally fill my order.

22 mos. and counting since deposit made....

edit: Sorry if that means those that have cars can't turn them over for 200k the first year. I am having a selfish moment here.

No one with a V10 is selling them for over msrp, you're lucky to be able to sell one at anywhere near sticker. Those days are over.

Demand is about to go up with Clarkson's "Best car that he has ever driven" comment.

Good point Mike. Clarkson is an influential guy when it comes to car buyers.

Re: How is demand for the R8 V10?

Clarkson's comment won't change a thing. It's the economy, and the price of the V10 combined with poor trade in values for the V8, and too many V10's.

Here in the US few will ever watch Duel.
