    Smile Spyder spec decision made!

    Went to the dealership yesterday and finally made my spec for the Spyder order, its due as slot no1 from my dealership and in first production batch for UK.

    Spec as follows;

    Body; Sepang Blue with black Hood

    Interior; Extended leather option ( Full Option ) in Palace blue for seats with Luna silver stitching, with Alabaster White inserts, door panel and other extended areas in white ( black to dashboard etc ) ( he is checking the above is possible, if not the contrast leather will be silver )

    Leather gear knob

    Storage pack

    Opted out of the 6 CD changer for the I Pod option

    Inlays in Carbon sigma

    Other options;

    Acoustic park front and rear

    Cobra track 5

    10 spoke 2 tone wheels ( which I may get re finished in titanium after delivery )

    As its already highly specked as standard that’s about it, I may decide to opt for the factory collection, I have read it’s a great thing to do, although my dealer is trying to talk me out of it as I think he wants to see the car in the showroom and I guess he will have customers wanting to see it too!

    Please note; the Bucket seats and the alternative multi function steering wheel discussed on this forum are not available at launch in the UK, they may however be available later, one of the disadvantages of getting in early!

    Regards

    Colin

    A supercar can't be too flash! Sounds like the interior will look great, wouldn't be something I'd spec without seeing first tho

    Yes I am jealous..you are going to have a real head turner on your hands.

    **** the dealer..do the factory collection and enjoy running it in through some of the most beautiful parts of Europe including the Autobahn.

    Picture yourself driving thru Paris -Avenue des Champs-Elysees.

    Yep..you got to do it.

    Seriously, sounds cool and agree with a rag top supercar you can't be too flash as long as you have taste too - enjoy!!

    Cheese grater indeed, to be honest Ian just fancied a change from the Alu knob, its cold in winter and my wedding ring taps on it as i tend to drive with one hand on the knob so to speak!

    When do they predict delivery for your new car, Monkey boy? We're still not getting any solid read from our U.S. dealers regarding the spyders yet.

    I thought that resting your hand on the shifter can damage the transmission over time. Admittedly I have no idea if that is true of modern cars, but it is something to consider.

    Re: Spyder spec decision made!

    Hi StuM, My dealer says i should expect delivery early March, however i do remember i was one of the very first in line for the V8 and the first batch ended up being delayed by Audi so won’t hold my breath.

    SteveR, Yes, that is what i have heard, its habit I’m afraid, always ready for a gear change! to be honest i rarely keep a car longer than 6 to 12 months but i do drive them hard, it’s what there built for isn’t it?
