    Road trip to John O Groats 2009

    Hi all,

    Thought i would share some pictures of this year’s road trip, instead of the usual Euro trip to a GP we decided on a gastro trip to the most Northern point of the British Isles, John O Groats in Scotland, 5 days of driving some of the driving way at the top of Scotland was some of the most awesome, scenic driving we have ever experienced, parts of the route have been used for Top Gear shoots.

    If i was not in danger of being prosecuted i could post a video clip of all the cars ( Maserati leading ) from Tongue on an A road you have never seen the likes of, about 25 miles of single track tarmac over the most beautiful mountain pass with passing places every half a mile or so, we did it in about 20 mins without seeing too many cars coming the other way thank god!

    The experience of going over a walled cattle grid at over 100MPH is quite surreal!

    Anyway, struggling to load pics direct to the Thread as not very Savvy on IT, so have taken advice from you guys and loaded them to photo bucket, here they are just a few, enjoy!

    From home onwards;

    Nice shots and interesting group of company.Sure sounds as thou the isolated roads gave the thrill.

    I appreciate Maserati's a lot more than in the past after seeing the 2009/10 models in Germany a few months ago in a dealership.

    It's a bit sad thou that I travel to the other side of the world and I am still walking into dealerships..

    I can't see the R8?

    MBUK - we're climbing Skiddaw on the 19th Dec, but unfortunately already booked somewhere in Keswick. How far away are you? Can I borrow some crampons?

    Ha Ha Mike!

    ****, you’re brave, Dec climbing, weather up here already ****, were underwater and in December it will have iced over, are you into extreme climbing? i will keep my crampons to myself you no doubt will be pleased to hear! but if your passing call in i will buy you a much needed hot toddy or a locally brewed beer or two! Were at www.windermeresuites.co.uk & www.howbeck.co.uk

    We are in Windermere about 18 miles away from Keswick.

    Seriously, if you and the guys want to meet up for a beer let me know.

    To answer your question, sold both R8's, get my new R8 spyder early next year.

    O Yeah!

    Early doors and all that, not much to do up here in the winter unless you’re into extreme sport or an early doors drink!
