    itunes songs to SD card

Like a good citizen I pay for my songs. How do I get my itunes songs to play off the SD card? I wish it had an ipod adapter built in.

You will need to convert your songs to mp3 if they aren't already. If they aren't, burn them to CD, then re-rip them to itunes and make sure itunes is set to use MP3 as the encoder.

I buy my music as well, but I much prefer buying the actual CD and importing as MP3 or downloading MP3s from Amazon.com - Amazon is usually cheaper and they're ALWAYS DRM-free

Buy a copy of Sound Taxi available online its real cheap and does a great job of converting iTunes files, you can even set it to auto and it will convert your whole music collection.

Used it for years on my RS4 then the R8 and a Harley.

You can burn itunes M4P music onto a CD (using the iTunes CD burning option), then re-import the CD as unprotected MP3 into the iTunes library.

On a Mac I use the application Noteburner to do everything for me. It acts as a virtual drive and then rips the music and converts.

In iTunes preferences, in the General tab, go to import settings and change to import using MP3 encoder. Then you can right click the file and select "Create MP3 version"

On a mac, what ID tag do you use when you convert to MP3 and burn to a CD so the song titles show n the R8 display?

There is an option I saw to display file names (on the setup button I think)...

Or just buy music from 7digital.com in 320k mp3 format and use "add to library" in itunes - that way you can do what you want with better quality files.

The filename is what displays as far as I know... I have them organized in the following way:

    iTunes

    Name: Hells Bells
    Artist: ACDC
    Album: Back in Black

    etc

When I use Noteburner, it automatically tags the files as Hells Bells.mp3 and that displays on the R8 screen
