I received my photos from Buttonwillow, and there was a nice surprise on the disk. I'd seen the photographer standing near Cotton Corners, and couldn't resist getting just a little more of the berm at the top of the hill on the next lap. It's not the school line, however here's the result:

The R8 handles it so well, I was really surprised to see the wheels off the ground in the photo. Here is the full sequence. I suppose all this car movement takes place in about 1/5 second:

Cool picture, likely just at the exact point as the chassis is disturbed by clipping the curb? I am quite jealous of the fun going on here - must get back to a track soon!
    Best Regards, Ian

    Hi Ian,
It's more than just the curb, as this right hand turn (3a, the last in Cotton Corners) is on a hill, with another right turn again at the bottom. At turn-in this apex is not visible - it is just on the back side of the crest of the hill. The photographer is standing at the bottom and looking up the hill. (To judge it's size, you can just see the tops of some quite tall (~150'?) electrical transmission towers, beyond.) I think he caught the car as it is already coming down. If you click on the link in my previous post, it will play a slide show consisting of four motor-drive photos; click the minus (-) button until the duration is at 1 second, click play, and (after all the photos load) it will give a good sense of the motion as it loops through the pictures. Its pretty cool! Even after it comes down, you can see that there is very little weight on the right hand wheels all the way through the corner.
