    I owned a SuperLeggera, now a R8 V8,

    Hey guys,

The Gallardo SuperLeggera I owned was without doubt the coolest, most exciting car around, in every category. It felt, smelled and looked pure raw mean performance, in every aspect, I truly miss it! But what I don't miss is the attention it drew, way to much of the wrong kind such as jealousy, envy, cops etc - we all want hot chicks flashing us but with a Lamborghini you get everything, good and bad..

Everytime you jump into a Lamborghini you feel special, you don't in the R8, it's not even the same league. My R8 V8 is slow, it has no soul, no grunt and the stock exhaust sounds like crap.

However, the R8 is without a doubt the best car I have ever owned, including several Lamborghinis and Porsches. It is that good!

    That is why I have decided to go for a V10 and sell my V8. But before I do that, I must end one thought that bothers me and hence, the reason for this thread;

I want to know if members here have gone from owning Lambos to Audi R8 V10s and if so, what are your thoughts?
Will the V10 give me enough to not miss being in a Lamborghini or am I just fooling myself?

Please, try and answer at your best abilities, since this is something I ponder each and every day and I really must make desisicion soon to get a car in spring 2010.

Thank you very much in advance for listening!

I forgot to add, my daily driver is a A5 and I have the new RS5 on order to replace it, I love my DD as well, it's just to slow

The R8 V10 would be my weekend warrior. Or is that overkill?

Do you not get the same if not more attention with the R8?

I guess harrison would give you a good answer to

cause his R8 is his daily driver (i think) and he's driven his mates Gallardo a few times

imo you can't go wrong with the gallardo or r8, the r8 is apparently the better car for daily driving but you have your A5/RS5 for that get the V10 or get a super charger/ TT for the V8, either way you get pretty much the same as the Gallardo but better I'm just guessing anyway

    Re: I owned a SuperLeggera, now a R8 V8,

Driven the Superlegga on a number of occasions now and agree hole heartily with your comments. It draws so much attention.I think I described it on a previous review thread to be like a Box Office Movie Star on wheels with the amount of attention it gets..way more than my R8 which gets a lot.

In my humble opinion if you are looking for the same sort of presence and special occasion as a S/L there are few cars out there that achieve that.

But as a better drive and easier to live with the... R8 V10 is very hard to beat..but it just misses the flair of what you had before.

Their drive-trains and suspensions are exactly identical. The R8 much more comfortable.

    Dude,
You say the R8 has no soul, is slow, and does not make you feel special. The the next sentence you say is the best car you owned? I think you need to stick with the Lambo since it sounds like you need attention more than car advise.

    Actually they aren't

Quattro is exclusive to Audi. Lamborghini has their own all wheel drive system

    "Dude"?! LOL...

It is the best car I've owned but it still is slow as ****, lacks soul and makes you feel just about as special as any other DUDE out there in an Audi

The only attention I don't need is the one comming from people like you.

    Right on!

I am so torn between the R8 V10 or the new 560SL, maybe I should just go with the Lamborghini since I will rock a RS5 as a dailydriver?

Or maybe I should go for the V10 and screw the RS5 since the V10 is just so **** good? But will I miss the raw feel of the SuperG?

Man, this eats my brain away

Anyone out there who can share their thoughts?

Thank you very much for your time guys!
